Dr Brisley understands the level of suffering one can experience from an atlas misalignment through her own personal journey. Dr. Brisley suffered a major concussion at the tender age of eight years old that left her suffering from migraines and profuse vomiting, ultimately resulting in a seizure that would take her on a long road down the traditional medical rabbit hole. Ultimately she discovered chiropractic and the rest is history. Dr. Brisley graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa in 1991. She is a Diplomate to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has extensive post graduate training in Chiropractic Neurology from the Carrick Institute as well as Spinal Bio-mechanics, Radiology, Kinesiology, Nutrition and Metaphysics. She is proud to provide a high quality level of Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic care to her patients. Her goal is to improve your lifestyle by caring for your specific health concerns.
With 28 years of clinical experience, Dr. Brisley practiced under the late Dr. Fred M. Vogel DC for a decade. She learned all the fine nuances of Atlas Orthogonal care from the master of the Grostic technique and who ultimately helped Dr. Sweat to invent the AO technique as it is today. Her knowledge is vast and far reaching. Over the years she has proven herself to be the doctor's doctor. Her practice consists primarily of treating medical as well as other chiropractic failures. She also treats medical doctors and dentists. Dr. Brisley is more than capable of analyzing your body and creating a custom pain plan to benefit your health. She understands the importance of educating you on Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic care so that you can heal quickly!
Not only will Dr. Brisley treat your existing conditions, she will strive to prevent pain and illness from reoccurring and help you improve your quality of life, achieve your wellness goals, and heal your body to live your best life possible. The three branches of health that comprise humanism are likened to an equilateral triangle. its called "the triad of health." These three sides include Structure: Spine
Chemistry: nutrition, Mental/Emotional:stress/spirit.
Dr. Brisley provides comprehensive care on every visit based on the triad of health knowing that all three have to balance in order to become whole. This is the truest definition of wholistic health care.
Dr. Brisley is knowledgeable in spinal and chiropractic adjustments. The purpose of spinal adjustments is to return the spine to a natural state of health and to reduce pain, muscle spasms, and nerve irritation, so you can enjoy your life pain free.
A very common question and concern is the concept that by adjusting the atlas bone we are ignoring the rest of the spine. Let me address this once and for all. There are two things happening within the technique of Atlas Orthogonal. The first of which occurs during treatment. The information is derived from the x-rays and the person is positioned in the reverse mirror image of skull through C7. The actual leverage from the instrument is delivered to the Atlas bone, however all the neck bones are treated at once.
Once treatment is given, there is a neurologic reflex called "the postural righting reflex" that coordinates the eyes and ears and neck muscles in a stereo relationship to keep the head over the feet. So, in lay terms, once you correct the atlas and put the head on straight, the rest of the spine will straighten and rebalance as well as the eyes, ears, and limbs. The human body is engineered to heal and Atlas is the main structural and neurological component. Putting your head on straight is a birthright. Its the way the body was engineered.
The Atlas bone is the first and most important vertebrae in the entire spine.

Q. HOW DO I DETERMINE IF MY ATLAS IS THE CAUSE OF MY HEALTH PROBLEMS?
A. It may be difficult for anyone to figure out on there own. Typically a trauma to the face, head or neck precedes the event. The Atlas misalignment can take up to 25 years before manifesting in symptoms. This is a great question and feel free to call the office and find out if Atlas is the right fit for you.
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO FEEL RELIEF?
A. Typically pain relief is immediate. MANY people experience immediate and lasting relief after just one visit and in real time. Healing is different than pain relief (please see next question) Atlas is very different from person to person, however we all share the same spinal engineering so certain outcomes are predictable and profound
Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
A. Even though the healing of certain tissues require different healing time. i.e.muscle memory begins at two weeks, sprained ligaments take six weeks. nerve involvement can take three months, every person is different and age and trauma do play a part. Once the x-rays are taken the doctor can glean a LOT of information regarding how fast or slow the healing process will take. The most important part of healing is a positive attitude! Dr. Brisley holds both a Ministerial and a Bachelors degree in Metaphysics. When these issues arise, Dr. Brisley can help you to get past these limiting beliefs to truly heal and move on!
Q. HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO COME BACK?
A.During the acute or initial phase of care, expect 50% recovery within the first two weeks. Slower heals times are 4 weeks. The typical frequency is 2xweek for the first 2 weeks but may vary depending on the circumstance.
Q. DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE,AUTO CASES OR WORK COMP?
A. The clinic is private pay only. Auto and Work comp are also NOT taken. when you are released from Auto and/or work comp, give us a call!
Q. WHY ARE THERE SO FEW ATLAS ORTHOGONISTS?
A. The technique is costly and time consuming to learn. The equipment, special x-ray unit and Sweat percussion table, are also very costly and need to skill to operate.
